A Great win, I'm thrilled. The old boy hasn't lost it.

It was a great drive for Hakkinen. Very deserving win after being pushed back to 4th place.
You know what I think about Barrichello but today he has beaten Schumacher fair and square (I know Ralf's Girl is going to say look at the final result but nonetheless...LOL) Formula Juan was the man of the day. What about BAR calling Villeneuve for a nose cone change and not having one ready? That was hilarious. Is it too late for Villeneuve to take a sabbatical next season? I mean, BAR is not going to make it to the top so why bother? |

Boy, did Mika deserve to win today or what ! After being given an Unfair demotion, he had the last laugh. Take that, said Mika !
He was easily the driver of the race. Sparkling drives by Barrichelo,Montoya and Trulli however Mika was the class act today. It's good to see him win...and hopefully this would end his season on a high note. |

Great win for Mika today, and very well deserved . But I really think that we were robbed of quite an exciting race when both the williams drivers went out.

I reckon that grid demotion to fourth place really fired up the Fin. He got it off his chest with the first words of the post race interview. Anyone else notice Mika did not spray champagne on the podium?

Once again I'll say it: If I were Ron Dennis I'd have Mika fired.
All season long, Mika's been moping around delevering mediocre performances and generally not driving anywhere near his abilities. And then he wakes up! Has he just been wasting his teams time?? All that effort in producing what is clearly (judging by todays results) a competitive car and their #1 driver can't e arsed to drive te thing all year?? If I found ANY of my drivers EVER giving anything less than 100% (OK, TGF's already WON the thing, OK??) I'd have him fired on the spot. If the car's capable of winning and MIKA'S capable of winning, THEN WHAT THE HELL HAS HE BEEN DOING ALL YEAR???? If I were a member of the McLaren team (say a mechanic who's been up all night preparing Mika's race car) I would be ape**** with im after today. All that work all year and he does NOTHING?? Then in Spain, Britain and US he can just suddenly decide to start driving?? My opinion of Mika Hakkinnen has nosedived this season. He's a talented guy who's bored, mopey and fed up. Get some motivation or get out!! Oh, he's already MADE that descision?? |

In the words of the great Murray Walker, Mika's win was 'faaaaaaantastic!!'
Congratulations Mika, what a way to bring an end to your career. Now, to win in Japan, that would be the best way to finish. And it was a justice for him to win after the completely unfair decision made which bumped him back to fourth. That was the wrong decision to be made. Considering the infraction was made during the Sunday warm-up, wouldn't a fine have been sufficient instead of demoting him and taking away a time that had been set the previous day. Again, a case of the punishment unfairly fitting the crime. But Mika came back and won the race convincingly, although for a while McLaren, like usual, appeared lost. But some great race tactics got them to the front and MIKA WON!!!!!! Kudos to JPM as well. Another brilliant pass on TGF. Shows when it comes to the racing, he fears no-one. He would have deserved victory, as would Barrichello, who's had no luck in the past two races in which he's also deserved to win both. |

Tristan: And what do you think about David Coulthard then? He don't seem to do any better... And when this years McLaren is behaving for David's drivingstyle I don't see David as a future champ.
BTW Mika had a new race engineer this weekend. |

Race wrap up -
Mika, good going and lucky to boot (which is about time right) Michael, seemed asleep and managed second. DC, did the job and managed third. Jaun, did the business once again on Ralf when it matters. In a race. He is at the moment the most accomplished racer out there, bar none. Alesi, got some camera time in a yellow car advertising his age. Not sure if this is good or bad. Can't see any margin in it as far as the women go. And last, and in my book least. Ralfie. Out classed in the race then finding his natural habitat, the sand trap! |

It was great to see Mika winning again. Once Montoya was out of the race, I was really supporting Mika to win. Wouldn't it be great if he could repeat the feat at Suzuka?
Go Mika!!! |

Great stuff Mika!!!!
A top drive. Montoya and Barrichello both drove brilliant races, only for their luck to leave them. |
