Won't be another 'Button'....
Heikki has consistently improved his game every year, and IMO a tad unfortunate not to walk away with GP2 last year, I'm convinced the clear best driver in it lost out after half the season to a driver with better engineered car, not, a better driver... It's looking likely he'll be in one of the Renault seats next year, he'll be ready for a top race seat no doubt. |

Kovalainen
Here is an interesting quote from Karting Magazine (February 2001 Page 138)
"Sauro Cesetti and the dangerously psychopathic Heikke Kovallainen looked strong" - World Cup Motegi Japan! |

Why has rosberg been given German nationality? his father is finnish, he should be the same nationality as his father, but he can still speak another language.
Kovalainen to replace the failing Fisi next year!!!! |

That doesn't stand up. Nico was born in Germany and his mother is German, so his nationality is legitimate. |

I suppose he will always be regarded as Finnish by most though....
I know full well he's German, have done for a while.....but still refer to him as the Flying Finn! It just sticks, unfortunately! |

Kovalinen I'd like to see in F1, I'm sure he will make a similar impact to Rosberg who is god.
We have some very exciting years ahead of us guys, with all these next generation potential champions... |

Please correct me if am wrong on these counts. I was born in Scotland, and lived there for the first 23 years of my life (I have been in Canada the last 16 months). My Dad is English. Does that make me English? You might think so, but I don't. I bet if you asked Rosberg what nationality he was he would say German. |

not to get too off topic here, but as a canadian i have personally never understood how people decide their nationality and in sports it can be pretty arbritary.
it seems people get to choose for themselves, unless you ask the tax man to decide for you and in that case you are Swiss |

Isn't one Flying Finn enough? Kimi's fast enough to satisfy a nation of 5 million, surely? Still, it's not surprising that the Rosberg name still conjures up some emotion among Finnish fans (although the name itself (and Keke's ancestry) are Swedish). Maybe if Michael Andretti had been hugely successful in F1, some would have made a big deal of his Italian heritage? Conversely, the nationality of HHF's mother is a trivia answer of little interest to most. Without racing connections or an obvious effect on name or appearance, parental nationalities are less significant than actua place of birth and upbringing.

I think nationality is about what the individual considers himself/herself to be.
For example, I had a friend in school who moved to Scotland when he was two. He considered himself Scottish, and we certainly did. I guess by ANT1's theory, though, he is South African. |

Am I not right in thinking that Nico doesn't even speak Finnish?
