Australian MotoGP gallery

G'day guys,

Just back from MotoGP and am in the middle of sorting about 12000 photos(!), I have a gallery up, and it will be constantly updated in the next few days including the other classes: http://www.mayhem-images.com/gallery/v/motogp06/

Cheers.

12,000 shots.. ? Crikey... I "only" just about got to about 10,000 at Le Mans this year..

Had a quick look at your galleries..

One thing that has always puzzled me with many bike racing galleries (and car stuff, for that matter) is the lack of "race" or "action" shots..

You guys shoot what must be one of the closest forms of racing and yet most of the time all we see is single bike pan shots and some head ons.. Sure, these can be nice, in moderation.. But where are the shots of the racing, the passes, the close positioning of the bikes, the cut and thrust that illustrates the excitement of the sport..?

I accept that you may be in the process of sorting through your stuff, but, so far, out of the 160 odd shots posted you have only about 4 shots that have more than one bike in them...

I do like some of the pans taken against the sea.. different.. this one has perhaps the best background and framing, IMHO..

Thanks David, I think you'll find one of the contributing factors in only a few 'race' type shots is the inavailability of vantage points on race day, and being armed with only a 200mm lens, well, being on the fence is the only option. Literally the crowds on Sunday were 10 deep right around the track, but I take your comments onboard, it certainly is food for thought.

12k ?? It's your shutter and all, but really, 12K! Not meaning to come across as a schmuck, but seems like an awfully lot of frames to take and to edit.

cheers and happy post prod

No one said I was shooting alone, there are two of us, thanks for the concern anyway.
