That's what a real racing car sounds like! There's something magical about any blown 1500 with more than six cylinders, but with those 16 tiny pots the BRM is unique.

I've heard a shorter version of that (recorded at Goodwood IIRC), but that's 7'34" of pure magic!

Wonderful sound which gives the impression of coming from 'another place'; chokes me up when I hear it! You can also hear it on the CD that accompanied Nick Mason's book 'Into the Red'.

Over seven minutes, it must be looped.

Seen it and heard it on quite a few occasions. Makes you wonder why so many people at present day events wear ear defenders. Imagine a load of these going past ! Pure music.

BRM

We currently have screening on our local TV channel, the A-Z of Motorsports which feature the early 50s to the mid 60s motorsport and the BRM V16s appear on this along with the BRM 1.5 litre V8s etc. Also interesting to hear Tony Rudd talk about the BRM cars. Is this available on DVD I wonder.

Many thanks, Eclectic, for posting this. Made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, just as they did when the late Rodney Felton demo'd a V16 at Loton Park some years ago. 'Twas like a freeze-framed video - everyone within sight just stopped what they were doing to listen.
