Should be a story online soon... just waiting for a few more details from officialdom. But it was not one individual.

Great racing and especially the final when Smyth seemed to be holding the whole grid behind him into the esses, really close and good clean racing from everybody concerned there, also the classics were great to watch and as usual Dempsey provided the spectacular driving in Duratec that we all expect from him.
Now onto to Brands! |

Classic day. It did seem to be one of those meetings where 95% of the entry in all the races, woke up in a racy mood. Bonzer
PS, It has to be said that the Irish visitors really did themselves proud. Both on the track mixing it with talent that knew Combe like the back of their hand, and off the track by just being top folk to have about the place. Even after just the one meeting, future Carnivals won't be the same without them. |

Excellent race day, well done CCRC, the day said exactly what it said on the tin.."Formula Ford Carnival"
Having read the timetable for the Festival @ Brands, I can't bring myself to even contemplating entering an event that gives FF such a low presence. Come on Brands have another look at what CCRC have done and learn the lessons from last year when you had to shift the races at the last moment and offer start money to get people interested. Well done Matt Rivitt you drove your socks off, it was magnificent to watch, |

Many thanks Steve,
Yes the treatment is going well and it was another difficult decision not to compete in the Carnival. My aspirations are to enter the WHT and at the moment I'm considering not driving my Swift92 but renting a drive in a class A car. Don't know what the costs will be but will soon making enquiries. If I don't see you next time give me a nudge so I can say Hi. Alan |

With all this talk about bent engines, I wonder if anyones has had their diff checked. There were some shimmed up trick ones around in the 90s.
Its a very simple test. Jack the car up and hold one rear wheel pop it in 1st and start it. The unheld wheel should spin/drive freely and the held one is easily held, we used this to cut new Dunlops down to minimum tread! |

Yes great event, nice atmosphere, nice people and loads of beer good fun. Bit crazy with no gravel traps, alot of damage the weekend that a few ton of gravel would have prevented. No dubble vodka's for me before the next final, first time i felt like a mobile chicane "in a race".
