Changes at Blyton

Has anyone else seen this weeks Motorsports News?

Plans are being drawn up for a £22 million devolpment of Blyton.
The plans include a hotel Golf, Football & Hockey pitches as well as moving all the motorsport activity to single area where the current Rally-cross circuit is.
The focus is to be on Rally-Cross, Autograss, Supermoto & Karting.

Yes I read that, pit buildings, a control tower, hospitality areas and spectator accomodation were also mentioned. Work is apparently going to start this year.
Even if they only do half of what they say it will be great. I may even become a Blyton convert myself

This is very good news - rumours have been flying round for a while. The hope is that they will look to build a track that might ultimately be good enough for the ERC. Blyton is in a good central location and because its in the middle of nowhere the planning restrictions should be a bit more relaxed.

Anyone know why its not on the BRC calendar this year? Just not popular enough with drivers or is there more to it?

Who on earth is funding that little venture then?

Hopefully their inventory will include a team of water bowsers! Thats got to be the dustiest rallycross track I've been to!

I second that about the maggots!
Flushing toilets would do me as well!
I hope it happens as it would be great, my favorite rallycross circuit to race on by miles.
If they are going to do all this, they might as well make it possible to run circuit events as well to raise funds.

I still wont racing there again till they remove the stupid lumps of compressed tyres they call barriers...
