One way to do it.
When a new model is introduced i feel all teams running that make of car should be involved in the whole design and testing process. I feel they should also be given drawings etc of all aspects of the car as they are tested and then be able to build their cars much sooner and be better prepared at the start of the season.

In the old days, Holden Motorsport did not run teams, they just homologated components... it is only now that this has become clouded...

well according to HMS they had all the teams involved in design but the homologation was done by uncle Tom Walkinshoddy, i remember reading an article with this in it but can't find it now.
