NASCAR stars on dirt at Eldora
Could be a great event to watch, if it wasn't PPV. I know alot of the cup drivers started on racing dirt and late-model stockers, but I saw in the ad for the event that JPM is slated to be in the running too. Anybody know if he has EVER run on dirt? I'm guessing he went through karts and open-wheel to get to CART then F1. Could be a VERY interesting event to see what he could do.

For everyone not in the know...
"The Dream" is the biggest event in the world of late-model dirt track racing, its answer to sprint car racing's Knoxville Nationals. It is held at Eldora Speedway in Ohio, a half-mile dirt oval which is firmly ingrained in sprint car and late-model lore. Local and regional racers from across the U.S. and Canada meet there on the second week of June to race for the honor of being the greatest short-track racer in the land. Since Tony Stewart bought the Speedway in 2004, Dream Week has been kicked off with the Prelude to the Dream, an exhibition race between many of the drivers in the NEXTEL Cup Series. The first two events each drew over 40,000 spectators to Eldora; 2007 is the third edition of the event, and the first to be broadcast on television via pay-per-view. To my knowledge, this is the first race ever to be available on pay-per-view (NASCAR Hot Pass onboard footage nonwithstanding); CART attempted to promote an invitation-only "Super Prix" in Hawaii during the late 1990s, but venue and organizational dilemmas kept that race from entering fruition. I didn't watch the race but after reading about it and the comments by the drivers I will sure pay the $24.99 next year to watch it. Evidently the drivers really enjoyed the racing and made it worthwhile for all the fans. They were racing for fun and to win, not points or money.
