Crash and Burn should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Darren Manning....

The BAR team has a whole hoard of test drivers including Darren Manning, Patrick Lemarie, Ryo Fukuda, and Anthony Davidson. Talking to the Sunday People, Manning is more than ready to step into the Canadian's place.

This will be a good move as Manning is a good driver.

It makes me laugh though when they put his age as 21 in the newspaper! As much as I like Darren, he aint 21! He has been 27, 26 for a few years now... Give him a go!

Villeueve should never have gone to BAR, its killed his career.

Mannign would excell in the BAR.

Why not let the old frog Lemarie have a go at F1??

Or they could take it in turn to be No.2 to Olivier...

Lemarie? He's only there because he's JV's friend. Actually I haven't heard much from him so maybe he's been kicked out...

I really would like to see Manning get a F1 drive , especially after being BAR's test driver for a couple of years ...but , in all honesty i have to say he hasnt exactly shined in F3000 in the last 2 years except for silverstone 2000 , and needs to start winning again or at least be challenging for race wins to merit a F1 drive.

There was also an interview with him on Sky Sports yesterday and he told us that his helmet and overalls are always on the race team transporter as he is the nominated reserve driver.

Well he should be, he's the full time tester and he's given up racing for 2002, and he'll be rewarded in the best possible way if JV leaves...

Given u racing for 2002 ????.well he was trying to get a 3rd season with Arden team russia onlya few weeks ago , but the interview i see with Ardens boss said he wasnt really wanted there for a 3rd season as they wanted a new driver that would really push !...so if he's not racing next year , i dont think it will totally by chioce.....i also think he was looking at Premier 1 as well until their plans were puit back another year.

As far as I know, he's either given up racing to test for BAR or has nothing lined up.

Well , he has lost out on the Arden drive then !!!..team boss Christian Horner has opted for Tomas Enge in the belief that Arden can start getting some wins under their belt ...he obviously felt that Manning hadnt done enough over the last 2 years.

Please, somebody, give Manning a drive!!

Creig, maybe it's your last chance to prove you understand anything in F1!

in a way im pleased that Arden has gone for a different driver, as Darren needs to go somewhere with a fresh start to the season , if he had gone back to Arden , it would probally be the same promises and then the big let down agian.........hope he gets a drive though , he's bloody good , its just for the last couple of years he hasnt really shown it !..

Arden is still weak team and his results mean he's very good. Comparing to Victor Maslov, I think Arden should be happy they had such a driver. It's difficult to show something behind their wheels.

If you're referring to Craig Pollock... I think he's already had his last chance

I do agree with to a point , but i think Arden are a little better than you think....but , the proof will be by seeing the results that Enge gets this year in Mannings place....

Not very patriotic of me, because Arden is russian team. I'm happy we have a team and a driver in F3000, which is one step behind F1. But I'm not sure they will be good without Manning.

I wish him the best luck in BAR.

He is Number 1 test driver....but appenently at the moment...AD hasnt had enough time in the car to be classed as there reserve driver.......but i think this will all change once we get to mid season.
