First ever bio-ethanol BMW 320si S2000

Swedish Touring Car Championship teams Flash Engineering and WestCoast Racing tested bio-ethanol in co-operation with BMW Motorsport for the first time at Kinnekulle in Sweden yesterday. No definitive decision has been taken yet on which of the drivers in the teams will use bio-ethanol in their cars for the STCC race at Sturup this weekend.

"I am pleased with the test. We are slowly getting in the right direction and we will during the day take the decision if we are going to run with bio-ethanol in the race tomorrow," said Janne "Flash" Nilsson of Flash Engineering.

WestCoast Racing had their driver Robin Rudholm to drive their bio-ethanol converted BMW 320si. Team boss Dick Jönsson-Wigroth was pleased.
"This is a step in the right direction as both STCC and WTCC are heading for alternative fuels. We are going to eveluate the test and see if we are going to run one E85-engine for the race this weekend," said Jönsson-Wigroth.

These two BMW 320si are the first ever bio-ethanol converted S2000-spec cars. They will join Volvo in the STCC running on bio-ethanol.
