Yes,there's no point in comparing, we're just so desperate for some good racing that the slightest sign of fighting in the track the media trashes it with the good old stuff... let's just enjoy what we had now.

shiny side up! should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I can certainly understand the joy in seeing a true fight for position. It was very exciting, had me on the edge of the chair for sure - but I would rather see the fight develop differently.

I don't think it would have been any less exciting if they had not deliberately forced eachother off track. Had they given eachother proper racing room, the result would have been no less dramatic - and probably all the more awe-inspiring.

Anyway, I don't want to bellyache about action - I am just hoping that that tussle doesn't set any sort of precedent for driving standards, because it was a pretty poor display IMHO.

I think they were quite happy to go off the track - there was more grip out there. Look how much more traction Mass a got coming out of the last corner!

Can't believe this talk about dirty, illegal racing. Finally we see a real fight for position and people complain about it. I thought it was fantastic, showing supreme skill from both drivers with so much spray and so little grip. Race drivers will make the most of opportunities, if run offs are provided they will use them.

Hats off to the guys for their little cameo!!

Last time we saw anything near as good fun as this was probably JPM v Kimi in 2002 at Hockenheim?!!

Anyone got any clips of either Felipe or Robert talking about it after the race?

Great video, makes you wish the race was a few laps longer. It also makes you appriciate just how useless these rain lights really are at high speed. You could only see them in the low to medium speed corners!

I thought it was top notch racing, to be truthful. I was shocked to see Kubica go off because of Massa's tight line - but he returned the favour, racing was resumed and it was good. Very good. Bit disappointed Kubica lost out in the end but that's racing...

As an aside and while on the subject of Kubica: does anyone know why he got the penalty? I know he got into a spin with Hamilton but don't know why he was given the penalty - I only hope it wasn't for this reason!

Kirk has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Kubica did not spin with Hamilton per se. He knudged him from behind ... it wasn't much but it did cause LH to spin. Apparently he had an eventful race as he also got into the other McLaren and we all have witnessed that last lap give-and-take with Massa. However, I do think the stop-and-go penalty was for the Hamilton incident, but I am not certain.

Well, yes, Kubica nudged him, fair enough.

If, however, the penalty was given for that and that alone, then I for one will be disappointed to learn it. It was, afterall, harmless (Lewis won the race, Kubica could still have done very well were it not for the penalty). If drivers were punished for every time they touched...
