best junior series for driver + potential sponsors
Hello i'm young driver i've experience in karts & single seaters in Asia/ Japan (championship wins) and a bit in Europe (mainly tests) with strong results. For 2008 season I'm looking to put a full season together in Europe however will only be able to do so if i can raise the needed sponsor $$$,, it is for this reason i ask your opinion of the best options for a driver in my position?
Sure it would be nice to do Brit/ Euro F3 as in terms of driver development these are in my mind the best series to be in however I must be realistic as it wont make much sense to a sponsor to spend USD1M for the coverage they'd get, which would equal no sponsor = no racing or back to karts. Does anyone not agree with this? So far from what i know the series with the best coverage is the International Formula Masters as it's races are live on Eurosport. Will this coverage continue in 2008 and can anyone give me information on budgets for teams in the IFM and any team/ personal contacts u feel may be of use for me to speak to? I've heard IFM budgets are around he euro300k mark is this correct? What other series do you think would be potentially viable for a sponsor and for a realistic budget? The only other path i can see that may have some value to a sponsor would be Porsche Supercup however once down that route one can kiss there single seater aspirations away however I could still make a nice sports car career from there. any thoughts? Again the issue is budget v.s exposure for a sponsor as I need to sell it to them and it's no point being wishful I must be realistic. Let me know any contact or advise or if anyone has ANY contacts that may be of use (either teams, people in driver management, or any other field) please PM as it'd be a great help. Thank-you for your time |

Formula BMW Europe or Spanish F3 are good options

Palmer Audi will get you nearly as much TV coverage as any other single seater series in the UK. At the European level Formual Master is a good mix of laptime, cost, and commercial opportunity.

As Russy said, I would recommend FPA. Contact Bedford Autodrome or FPA itself, this is rather cheap series and you'll get fill of the car, you will learn British tracks, and you'll be acquipped with the same resources as other drivers (no teams in it, you sign with series).
