Found this last night when I was hunting for references.
At the time of this quote, there was a debate going on about the wisdom of running a GP on a street circuit. Just thought it might be a curious confirmation that some things never change..... From Motor Sport magazine, 1935: "The usual rumour that the Monaco Grand Prix will not take place next year has received its customary annual denial by Monsieur Noghes." |

That's a mighty long subscription, you grand ol' man.
Talking about archives; I got my hands on the Duke 50's, 60's and 70's collection last week and my god, it was fun watching all this footage. Especially the seventies, wow, virtually no corner these guys didn't go sideways. It almost looked like a dirttrack driving style sometimes, tres cool. So far for the things that do change ... |
