Moose,the handing of the tyres is always the same,it's only for heavy high powered cars,if they are not mounted in this way,it is possible to get the treads de-laminating,it's just the way they are moulded.

Oh we do we do. I just bought a set of Hoosier WETs Grand AM DP tires. Discontinued tires but new.

I prefer not to race in the rain, but we do.

Ahhh, should be ok, my car is heavy but certainly not high powered (yet!)

Sorry for my pathetic attempt at humour I was sorta trying to highlight the fact that there is no definitive answer, everyone has their own (sometimes opposing) opinion. Its all quite interesting though

Agree, it has to be pretty bloody wet for a road tyre to be better than the AO48, like so much water yo cant see.
