RS500 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
race 4(3) JB only had 3rd gear, still set the 4th fastest lap and the fastest 1st sector

Seton cracked the rear diff and had to retire

Great job by Jeremy Mantello in the HT standing in for the unwell Pete Mclean. Should be a great Oran Park round with a full grid. See you all there.

I put my expression of interest in to run a few RX2's, but was told they did not meet with style of car they wanted in the series.

Does anyone know if these engines can be sleeved?

Does anyone know the actual capacity of the car in question?

Yes, I was a little surpridsed that one of the main reasons that the Biante series was so interesting (small cars competing as their strengths were different to Comustangs) is now overlooked, but there is still room for some Porsches, What The???

But I guess they didnt want their big dollar cars being spanked by a rotory with the same freedoms!! Or a Mini for that matter.

& what is the Porsche spec allowable?

Could a Camaro run a 427 a la Bob Jane - only ZL1 spec or just a 427?

Exactly who does make the rules?

They are not cheating you can run upto a 2litre in an mk1 escort under biante regs, it is a BDG they only put it in last Tuesday before clipsal thats why the capacity reads 1600cc they ran a BDA last year

Cause a well built well driven rotor would spank some of the big cube V8's! Only have to see what is happening with Bridgy 13B's in IPRA to see what rotors can do these days

Like I said, they weren't too enthused with the idea. Have to say the Biante racing I saw in the weekend was a little devoid of action, must admit I only intently watched one race

"& what is the Porsche spec allowable?"

Pre 1973 ones (911) I guess. Some were raced in the day (Hamilton?)

this is one thing i have been interested in (not being a full time supporter of the series) do the cars need a history of racing here in Australia or can they be a touring car from over seas?

ok so its really restricted to cars that have competed in Australia.

a couple of unhappy people in the paddocks with some meeting scheduled before the next round, to sort out some parity issues with regulating equipment used by the team in setting up the car. Can't say to much yet will have to wait to see what happens with the planned meetings.

Style of car they wanted, you mean relatively cheap for it's performance potential and very very competitive

I think it's a typical hatred of Mazda Rotary's and being just a little scared.

Seeing how well Wayne Rogerson has gone in the Nc races with his lovely black RX-2 Coupe I can see a Biante'ised version could be a real weapon.

The sad point is that the people who pay to watch the racing a robbed of variety and more types of cars on the track.

Interesting watching a replay of the Biantes at OP today...the Chargers are going to be allowed to run 340ci V8s, which of course they never raced with in Australia.....oh well, the bark of another V8 will be entertaining (won't it )
