Team Brock... 2003 Style?

Interesting article Here

US$20m would have made a big difference to RNR/PWR back then.....

I don't think the truth is out there yet.

If this 20M $USD was no strings attached then why the comments.

It was money for Peter to provide a scheme for young people who had lost direction," Ms Brock explained."

Was Team Brock going to employ a bunch of lost youths to work as spanner monkeys?

We certainly invested quite substantially in preparing for a much larger venture," Ms Brock said.

And what did they invest their money in? A race Team or lost youths?

Strange and sad.

No winners here.

My thoughts too.

If the money was for "youth issues", then why did Brock invest the promised funds heavily into the racing team?

The irony is that over motorsport history, it has been more often that sponsor funds have been syphoned off into team owners own accounts, or partially backdoored out to the individual who provided the company dollars (If this ever happened at all).

He wanted a mentering roll to give kids with Tallent and no dollars behind them
It was his young loins idea
if his Ideas had of came to futrision you would have the Canto's and Cranbrooks, and Wakefields, Stokels in the main arena
how many of you young drivers have lost there way and been denied a chance

This is hard to believe, are you saying that the 20 million was for the underprivileged Wayne Wakefields, Stokells and Cantos of our world?

No wonder the scheme went belly up.

There’s Stokell in a Lamborghini and a hot VW Golf, Dean Canto with hair and Alf Costanzo winning at Sandown in a Maserati. Wakefield going gangbusters in his Mazda 808 wagon….And they need help.

Mate, there’s more to this story than we’ll ever know.

MPA, not Team Brock was my title - the suggestion of team owners taking the money, not ploughing it back into the race operation.

Not related to the Team Brock scenario being played out .. a tangent being taken literally .. maybe another time & place.

Best Aussie talent lost:
Rob Nguyen

Fair dinkum: Wakefield, Canto etc ... yeah !

Fair enough cavvy.

20 million to save some street kids......was that to get guys out of drifting and into circuit racing?

I'm lost.....If this bag of cash was unconditional then P Brock was free to spend it however he wanted.

And the whole needy lost youth thing need not be considered.

But who the heck gives away 20 mil without strings? This fella needs to tell the truth.

So does Bev B.

Indeed, but Joe Public will never ever know the truth, as Bev (who incidentally changed her surname to Brock by deed poll) is better at spin that Stewie McGill, and has a vested interest in being rewarded....

When it comes to team owners writing cheques that rewarded their ego, none comes close to the man that soaked up all of that Coke money (the Atlanta type, not the Bogotá version.... )

He was a World Champion you now.....

As a motorsports fan, and a person that respected PB a a brilliant race driver, the goings on, post his tragic passing are nothing short of Jerry Springer like.

I'd go so far as to say that Bev, the kids & Julie Bamford, seem to be attempting to outdo each other in the media whore stakes.

Keep it behind closed doors people, no-one ever benefits from public dusting off of the skeletons.......

As an aside, my late Pig-Irish ex copper Grandfather (Sergeant Paddy Cranker) once told me when I was but a young puller: " If a deal sounds too good to be true, It ALWAYS is".......

$20 Mill for free. Peter, wake up & smell the Polariser !

Seems Bevo needed to get back in the news, what with the recent story regarding Julie Bamford & Brock in the morge, it's important for her to be seen to be sticking by her man of 20 odd years.

All I can say is... let the man rest in peace. I'm sick of hearing his name dragged through mud when he's no longer here to give his side of the story.

As for Bev, have a read of "The Rise & Fall of Peter Brock" and you may well come to the understanding that she was behind a lot of crap the killed off his relationship with Holden and sent him off on a rather peculiar tangent with the Polarizer idea.

I wont deny she & Peter were wonderful ambassadors for the sport, but I don't really trust a lot of what she says, and am forced to question her motives everytime I see her in the media. Just my opinion, and only based on what I've read, but like I said, leave it be.
