Not just he, Hezemans too. Both drivers said the flag wasn't waved, just held out when they crossed the line, so they assumed they had a lap to go. Hezemans then tried a desperate move, hoping that maybe the Vitaphone car could still have some sort of problem which would have given the title to the #6 car.

I'm staying up to watch it on TV at 1:10am on Channel 4. Beautiful scheduling.

Or, at least, I thought I was. turned out the graphic I saw on C4 earlier was a lie...and I've stayed up for bugger all.

fabulous track, and some 550 and Saleen swansong action too! Hopefully the credit crunch means a stay of execution for some of the old cars (I know it's more likely to mean less cars, period )

i was hoping for some .. but in contrast with the usual live stream feed which was mainly onboards .. this time it was exactly what they've shown on tv .. don't think there was a full lap onboard shown either in qualy or race

This is what we expect in the current economic climate, I would have to say. It's not cheap to fly personnel to Argentina or ship anything there by sea, and putting it at the end of the year when things are rather wrapped up for some teams' hopes of championship glory, they've pretty much guaranteed a pay-driver parade.
I agree, Palttala is surely a pro. I'd say that he's a bit behind the works guys in qualifying, but is a good racer. He was running 2nd the first half of the race after passing Mullen and Collard. I think he had an accident with Kirkaldy after trying to get 3rd in the end, because they both dropped a place a lap or two before the end.

Fred Mako is extremely quick and should be racing in GT1/GT2 instead of GT3. You all saw his speed in San Luis and he's definitely a step or two ahead of the regular Belgians. He last did GT1 2 years ago when he put a 550 on pole in Dubai. I think he has been spending most of his career in national series in France.

Pay drivers or not, it was a great race and the track looked amazing! AF Corse finished pretty well with 1-3... Hats off for Bruni-Vilander for a great season and Russo was amazing and deserved the win even though it was handed to him by the lead car.

I was looking forward to the battle for 2nd in the GT2 team standings, but Collard's early accident put a stop on that.

López did a great race, he was very fast, much faster than Tuero.
Rissati also did very good when he took the Corvette, it's a shame his team mate spoiled what would have been a victory.
I still can't believe we have that racetrack in Argentina, I am so happy reading the comments people around the globe do.
Lopez looked like he could have won the race single handedly, but Tuero sadly dropped away after the pit stop.

And was I the only one who saw Kirkaldy being punted out of a podium place on the last lap by the Prospeed Porsche? Surely not...
