Another poorly marshal
Alan Powell, aka Fat Bloke, Big brother, Granddad & Oi you was taken to hospital recently following a stroke.
He's on the road to recovery, having regained his speech, but he's still very weak and may not be home for Christmas. As of yesterday, he no longer thinks he will be able to marshal any more, so for those of you who know him from Thruxton, Goodwood, Gurston or Croft, please raise a glass to him and wish him good luck. Mike, you can tell that malingering old bugger he's talking piffle if he thinks he's giving up coming to Gurston.
Just look at the facts:- Quote:

On a serious note, I hope he gets better soon and is home for christmas. I'm not in the habit of turning marshals away from Gurston and will try and find a duty for everyone no matter what their abilities are. Alan will be welcomed back whenever he's ready. Bit of an extreme way to opt out of doing Christmas!!
Get well soon Allan, you will still be able to do what you used to do on post. (whatever that was!!) |

Thanks to all from Al. He was sent home for Christmas and is doing reasonably well. Still comes as a shock to see him using his zimmer frame (anyone got any go faster stickers or a GTi badge going spare ?) but he's home, he's almost upright and he's doing ok.
Having him home for Christmas meant I had a great one, even though Santa obviously got my presents mixed up with someone else ! Mike P. |
