Unless, like the Godzilla last year, they simply have all the lights "covert" and mounted in the windows (just like a lot of unmarked police cars).

Is it possible that the domestic races will have a different set of safety cars?

No, they are the series CC & SC for the whole season (or until they possibly swap jobs).

billy bigtime has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Pedders certainly didn't much for their dollars this weekend.

which in some ways is certainly a good thing... heaven forbid we go down the road of what NASCAR is allegedly doing with the occasional yellow for not much

I was waiting for the "competition" yellow when Davison pulled off in race 1. There wasn't an opportunity for them to pull one in Race 2.

Competition yellows are thrown in if there's been rain over night or some other reason, like tyre's not holding up like they should. Even thou Davo's car was off to the side, normally back here in Oz they would get a truck out and collect it. But over there you need a cut lunch and compass once you go off the track.

Yes NASCAR might throw the "caution" for a piece of paper lying on the side of the track, but if it something else they don't want to take chances. Use to get yellows for no reason at Calder Park back when the Dome was running, and that was to bunch the field up if they had been running green too long and things became boring. They would even send the safety crew out to a location just to justify it.

makes sense to me to have a holden and ford pace car for a holden/ford race. i never understood why they used chryslers and audis.

Simply because those companies were prepared to supply cars and sponsor the series and Ford / Holden weren't.

Pedders has sorted that issue by purchasing the cars.

Makes you wonder about the dude who did the deal with XXXX last year and managed to burn Nissan in the process.
