ESPN3 is much higher quality and consistent.
Proxy's the way to go until the European player arrives. |

The european feed is getting better lately. Good enough not to distract from the race itself. And the production team at the is doing a fantastic job, I have to say.

Why, at ten past midnight, has the stream again started to mess up. Or am I the only one still watching the ALMS site one?

The ESPN3 feed has been faultless and provides a significantly better picture than Motors TV, it goes without saying the commentary has been as good as you could hope for.
For a first attempt starting with a 12 hr event and using technology that is improving in leaps and bounds it bodes well for the future. Next up will be the ABC highlights which is the platform that will promote the series. |

my stream has been excellent for the last few hours - it has stopped a few times - but when running it's been good quality
Frankly I'm grateful we're getting any feed to watch |

Since the meltdown the ALMS one has been running perfectly since the meltdown but it's suddenly gone back to stopping every 15seconds.

Really? Running (surprisingly) fine here, for once. It's still far inferior compared to the espn3 feed, but no major problems for a few hours. At least it's relatively light.

Might just be me then. It's stopped the pausing for the moment but at least it was fast forwarding itself so I haven't ended up losing a couple of minutes.

Must say the ESPN3 feed was very good all day but has seriously gone to pot over the last hour. Basically unwatchable since about 9:15.

Picture ran fine here on ESPN3 but was MUCH better on the 360 to a 46" plasma than on the laptop with a 15" screen. Had moments of high quality on the laptop but ran with a great picture on the 360.
Noticed that ESPN3 already has part 1 of Sebring archived and ready to watch with Part 2 being posted soon. |

Aside from all the early bashing, and the loss of imagery for almost an hour, the video streaming on the website was practically faultless for the last 7 hours.
Let's hope the ALMS guys understood well the problem they faced and have identified a permanent solution. That ESPN3 stream is fabulous. Thanks Chiana. I would have thought the same teams were behind both video streams but I guess not from the quality of both and the issues faced. |
