Green Flag...
and first caution 30 laps or so in for debris. A bunch pitted and a bunch stayed out. Kennseth and Keso go slideways together off 2 and the heat is getting turned up. |

The ironic thing is that Bristol is one of the tracks where the "Boys, have at it"-policy is the least noticable these days. It's like it's a bunch of girl scouts out there on track.
That the ESPN lady in the booth describes it as "It's been a typhical Bristol night race" after they just came back from their commercial break disgusts me. (Yes, I'm still annoyed about the reconfiguration.) Edit - Wow, a multi-car incident at Bristol. You don't see that everyday these days. And it even included some retaliatory action too! Now this is the Bristol I remember. |

It's now a mix between the "older-old" Bristol before they concreted the place, where the only way around was against the fence and the Bristol before the last "reconfiguration", as it is being referred as this evening. Before the last, it was a congo-line just above the apron with passing only getting done after the chrome horn is used.
Both ways have their pros and cons. You are right rustyfan, it is a bit too clean to be Bristol, but I don't think the track is really the issue for mediocrity; it's Goodyear and the COT --- same problem as everywhere. |

I think NASCAR's enforcement of pit road speeds is ridiculous; use a radar, it's 20th century stuff . Did it have affect on how this race was won? I don't know, I ain't smart enough, but Keso winning is just slightly better than the 24 or the 18 winning. Or is it? Been a long day....
Say what you want about the "new" Bristol; there was a lot of close, clean side by side action through the field, which is what makes stockcar racing great. Is it the real Britsol? not really; doesn't look like any more drivers/teams are madder than hell right now, from what I can tell, only a few bent up cars and only about 5 cautions or so, but the race was completed before 12 am east coast time, there wasn't a ridiculous nonsense prolonging the event, and there some good clean, hard racing action all night long. You be the judge. |

Nothing against what Brad K did I might add, he just used the rules to his advantage as plenty of others also did. |

Yeah, what Brad did was fine...
...and now NASCAR needs to say "that was cool, let's never do this again" and make some kind of change. It's just an odd way to win a race. |
