speed loss setup driving advice

Hi

I run a VD RF85 on Avon ACB 9 threaded tyres and have fond that I'm loosing speed through fast corners in 4-wheel drift.

For example at Falkenberg there is a fast right hander, aproach speed is 160km/h slight uphill good turn in car settles in a 4-wheel drift more or less at once and I slide tha car geting the apex right and just making the LH edge of the track with a little steering adjustment. The corner is taken flat out.

The problem is that the corner is costing me some 5km/h (mid corner) and it takes about 3sek to regain entry speed of 160km/h

It's great fun and controllable but I guess not the fastest way around a corner.

Any advice on set up or driving technique to avoid the 4wheel drift?

Attached is a log file from the corner

/Henrik

Buy a bigger engine!

Seriously though, all I can suggest is, leave the turn in a fraction later, that will scrub off the speed earlier in the corner and the car should leave the corner slightly faster than it presently does. Not a faster way to corner but it might be harder for someone to overtake you.

go stiffer with your set up and look at your tyre pressures

samd, bigger engine yes please :-) but if I'm to stay within the regs there not much more to find. It's not super but good enough.

Stiffer would be an idea. I currently have 300lb/in front springs with 1" preload and 200 at the rear. The wheel ratios would be 180lb/in front and 200lb/in rear 150 lb/wheel front wheight
280 lb/wheel rear wheigt

So it's stiffer than Van Diemen used in 1985 90lb front springs and 120 rear.

Tire pressures I usally go for around 1.3bar hot F&R

kartingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Seems very heavy on the front axle. Check your rake and droop.
