JPM is without a doubt one of the best drivers in F1. I'm a big Williams fans, so I support the team if he wins. But, I still don't like him for the same reasons I don't like TGF. He may be one of the greatest on the track, but hardly the greatest off the track.
I'll be going for DC. |

This from the JPM web site:
"Juan Pablo Montoya suffered mechanichal problems on lap 46. Starting on Pole, Juan had a weak start and lost 1st place on the start, something wrong went on the launch control. Juan had a intense fight with M. Schumacher, but the german could not pass him. We leave monaco with 0 point, a pole and the new lap record, great race for Juan, but no cigar this time...More to come soon . . . ." ce la vie . . . asÃ* es la vida . . . what are you gonna do? life continues and the next race shall soon come . . . dang! |

I was a bit harsh but I think his pole was down to his tires and traffic than skill. Good race, and great result for DC.
And it was nice to see JPM move over for Ralf without being asked to. |

JPM was very unlucky, but he would have only finished third as TGF beat him with his pitstop and subsequent quick laps.
That puts an end to his string of points finishes which is a shame |

Freud,
I qualifying it is plain to see that the Michelin man made better tires, I do not know if it was a result of the weather, compounds or what but it can be proven just by looking at the Grid, Michelins took up all the good spots and Bridgestone runners where generally at the rear. In the race it was a different story. Coulthard had problems with his tires in the early laps (when JPM was all over his ass for about 4 laps and then Coulthard shot off), also JPM lap times dropped of for a few laps early in the race as well. And the clincher, through out the whole race TGF and Rubens where always under the rear wing of the car in front, Coulthard had to change strategy so as to keep schumi behind him at the pit stops. Rubens even said that he made the lunge at kimi as he was being held up so much, basically (and I am putting words in Rubens mouth) but Rubens got bored and had a go. That’s my view anyway, It goes to show you that McLaren and Coulthard where really on the ball today and made all the right calls. Great race. |

that "thinimajig" broke down . . .
Has someone heard about what the "mechanical problem" actually was?
I was getting spoiled thinking that these 2002 Williams were indestructible. |

champ69, JPM was half a second quicker than his teammate who was on same tyres and same package... lets admit that he gave a great qualifying lap!

I'm not at all surprised that JPM moved over for Ralf, that guy is not out there to ruin anything for anyone, and by that time, he knew he had a serious problem with his car. And it was an engine failure which caused his retirement from the race, see Williams race notes. |
