FIASCC SR2 - new engine regs?
There are plans to up the engine size limit for SR2 to 4l in order to incorporate N-GT engines such as the Porsche 996 flat six. If the no. of cylinders is raised to 8 (and I don’t know if this is being considered) we may see the Ferrari and BMW V8s in this category as well. Plans are to restrict these new engines so they will fit in with the engines currently in use (3l V6).
Is this a good idea? It could be good for the FIASCC - but it effectively creates another category of smaller sportscars alongside the SR2 and LMP675. Maybe 675 should go in this direction as well? |

hm, not sure, about the sr2s, but it probably wouldnt mater as much the the 675s. they already can use up to 8 cyclinders, 3.4ls, and doesnt have to use a production engine. but it would open a slightly larger engine selection. instead of just having the judd and nissan engines, they would also have the ferrari and bmw v8s like you said.

In SR2 the "stock blocks" would have to be restricted, I guess; in 675 they would have to be given a restriction break
Still, at first glance I think it could work in FIA sportscars. |

No particular reason, I just never got around to it somehow
Picture a Ferrari 333SP-SR2 with an F360-derived V8... - it could be around for another decade |
