R4C3R should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Need for Speed World...?

Anyone play on Need for Speed World? I got hooked on it for a while but then I found it proper repetitive and got bored.

What does everyone else think?

Most need for speed gamesa re like this sadly.

Trouble is they have tried to make sims now with the Shift series, the first one of which was not bad, but Shift 2 is a truly appalling game, very arcadey for an alleged sim and relaly not worth teh plastic it is printed on.

IceMan_PJN has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

At first I thought I liked Shift 2, but by the time I got to about 25% completion I realized it's pretty atrocious. My big fits were with the daft AI and really questionable collision physics. It wasn't so bad on a circuit whereon we had time to spread out a bit, but if we had faster cars on a circuit with a bottleneck (like a tight chicane) five seconds into the lap, the entire field was clustered together and collisions were guaranteed.

That itself was somewhat annoying, but collisions do happen, but this was magnified ten-fold by the poor crash physics, wherewith the AI cars are almost always unscathed or almost unharmed while my car had a 98.3% chance of spinning around backwards, facing the wrong way and into oncoming traffic which then also makes sure to nail me. If you tap a wall, you get glued to it as though you and the wall were Velcro, and could not part from the wall for a solid fifteen seconds, during which time you were slowed to like 20 MPH. If tapping the wall didn't glue me to it, then it otherwise had a 91% chance of spinning me backwards.

The only reason I really wanted to play Shift 2 was because it has a great track list, but I couldn't suffer it long enough to get to some of the ones I wanted, like Bathurst.
