So here is an update on the Scott Tucker situation. Perhaps we should not consider his ALMS entries to be as solid as previously reported, but we'll see.

egads, $20 million a month. " Misleading and predatory loans" with interest of up to 800% a month.
It is interesting that he is described as a race driver who works there..... |

Yeah. He "works" there and gets $2 million some months and the company he "works for" gets as much as $200,000 in some months. Man, that's either one hell of a union or one hell of a huckster!

This is already covered in the ALMS 2012 topic: http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...88#post3052388
Would it make sense to move the discussion in this topic? |

sad commentary indeed that the only points of discussion for ALMS '12 would be Tucker and the Ford engined Radical.

Well, Tucker showed up at LB and won. It's not like he had a lot of competition though. They were soundly beaten by the LMPCs but really didn't have to try to hard.

Such is life at Long Beach. These P2, PC and GT cars are in the same performance envelope at Long Beach because the GT cars have a massive mechanical grip advantage. It's a fully pro class, so I'm not surprised over the course of two hours that their winner got in front of the P2 winner. Core Autosport might be equal with Level 5 in terms of preparation and Popow Dalziel are a fabulous driver lineup... Not a bloody disgrace at all. If at Mosport PC and GT beat P2 in the overall that borders more on disgrace. Chris |

The bus is running off the road---he might also save himself by throwing someone overboard.

These types of legal cases normally are so complicated that it really takes a long time to go to trial as all of the specific charges and individuals must be clearly identified, etc. I doubt this will effect this years racing efforts by Level-5. Unless the Government is really keen on getting tucker and assigns a vast number of investigators to ferret things out, this case could really drag on for years.

I would not be surprised to find that in the eye of the law most to all of this will pass examination.

Tucker offered loans in states where the practice is banned, using the Indian dodge, as far as I know.
Anyway, as has been said, none of this will happen fast and little of it will be exciting. |
