I believe that Jonathan France's (owner of Team WFR) son was born with a cleft palate. Since then WFR cars have carried support for the charity.

In many instances a second car is a more cost-effective way to get a spares package whether or not you are ever planning on running it, or just bet-hedging that you might. I believe the Jones' bought a second Merc SLS for that reason, Signatech had a 2nd Oreca LMP2 last year for that reason, and Dyson bought 2 P1 Lolas this year partly for that reason to name some examples. It is not really evidence for cost escalation, actually for cost containment if anything.

Thats nuts! Glad they could have a laugh about it afterwards. From reading the description under the vid, it apparently happened three times over the weekend, that'd get slightly annoying after a while..............

Sorry, bit late to the party here but I had IT issues last week and was unable to post. I managed to catch up on the Rockingham coverage last week and what a race that looked. From what people are saying the most recent event looks to have been just as entertaining can't wait.

N.B - Its nice to be talking about a British race series and the discussion not revolving around who's fault the latest crash was!

enjoy

the torrential downpour between the two races gave me a chance to have a look at the GT cars in the open paddock, the Mclaren is an awesome bit of kit, the racing was excellent as well, was good to see (what i think was) the McLarens first win in a premier level championship at a uk circuit
Cheers

23 GT3 cars for the Silverstone race this weekend. 33 cars in total. Very good entry too.

British GT is going through a really strong period at the moment its great to see.

Does any one know why the Mazda did not show up on the live timing during qualifying? Did they have a problem? Hopefully they will out for the race.

They had an oil fire that damaged the wiring and other parts apparently. Multiple problems in the race this afternoon due to punctures and diff failure.

Not a bad turn out both in the number of competitors and spectators at Silverstone this afternoon. Congratulations to the United Autosports Team for victory with Ecurie Ecosse second with the BMW Z4 amd the Motorbase Perfetti/Caine Porsche 3rd.

It was a good weekend at Silverstoone for my local teams with United Autosport taking the win in GT3, with Team WFR taking the win in GT4 and also taking the GT4 championship.

That's good news, not great news, but it is getting better and better. Hopfully next year we will not have to wait so long to watch all of the races.
