In recent times Bernie has not seemed to like Mercedes for some reason. There were long negociations over the concororde agreement was another example of it.

What sort of job could they offer him? Whether he was with merc or not couldn't see him being a race steward and if he is still working for merc he will still be involved with the sport.
I guess he is just being honest but sort of came across as a bit mean spirited imo.
