Confused hand signal
This was shown across the track at Thruxton at the weekend and I have no uses what it meant. Anyone else?
Vertical left hand, horizontal right hand moving into and away from left hand. All done at shoulder height. As it was, we could see it was a full lift (and having heard that the rest if the cars suspension was at the Chicane, it was always going to be a full lift) and called it as such. But no-one on post with me knew what thus other signal was. David, Confused of Post 3. |

Arm held vertical means "doctor"; maybe the right hand gesture means that he wanted the doctor to sweep the track?

Sounds as if he was announcing the appointment of a new Sunderland manager?

Sounds like someone indicating "impact" to me. It's sometimes used in other parts of the world as an indication of "vehicle hit wall".

Those Michigan signals always make me chuckle, "leaking" and "yellow" are the same...(best not to ask)
I've heard of the "straight tow" indication being given at a 45 degree angle, when questioned the signaler told the PC that it was only the front of the car that needed lifting. BTW what did the signaler answer when you asked him what he thought he meant? |

I'm still proud of my improvised 'Car 23 is peeing fuel onto the track on my side'. Once the observer had stopped laughing he phoned it in accurately.

Surely if the car hit a wall you'd give a 'T' for tyre wall damage?

It sounds a bit like the Racesafe marshals signal for oil/coolant on the track. Not the hand vertical in the air bit, I thought that was universal for 'medic required.'
