Brands Hatch XGames? possibility? Dr JP

So far from what I have read X games has been suffering with decent rallycross circuits, is there a to be a event held in the UK?
If this was the case wouldn't a venue with a well known circuit say Brands be the ideal place to hold such a thing, the history of Brands rallycross before the awful attempts at holding races with the big loop round and the long straight are well known in the rallycross world. Plenty of space in and around brands, for the other stuff resurrect the knifedge Hoppys and the old cut through behind the pits adjust the old esses to catter for a joker section plenty of room in and around the SSS's for such a thing.
This could be the thing that gets rallycross back at Brands, dont know who funds the Xgames but they obviously have deep pockets if JP hasn't got to layout alot of money and can see the benefits Xgames has around the world another source of revenue may help in restoring RX back at Brands. Maybe a guest drive for one of his son's might well make JP take another look at his old winter pastime.
Maybe IMG might like the appeal of Brands also? they could hold the inaugural round of the WRX Championships at Brands should such a thing occur. Euro's at Lydden, Worlds at Brand's that's of course if the Euro doesn't get dropped in favour of the World..

Just a thought Brands back ahh if only.

I don't really think there is anywhere you could fit it

Silverstone would be more reasonable as it has more space, Brands literally count fit a rallycross track, even a temp one into their space

Silverstone would mean building a track which be mickey mouse again like the other Xgames venues. Brands has car parks the pits near the driving school the infield at druids etc might need a bit of work but ya never know " Chunder"

I just cant see cutting up his beloved Brands for anything. Modern rallycross is Mickey Mouse, they love it coz it measn they hit each other more.

If there's a X Games it will be in London or another major city so unlikely they use an existing track.

The London Olympics 2012 ( Paralympics) did use Brands Hatch for a cycling event as I recall.
So they could base the usual X-games stuff in the Olympic stadium with the Rallycross held at Brands Hatch.

Seems a brilliant idea to me but alas it probably will never happen. When X-games announced it was going global, a Facebook campaign and other groups started up, to try and get a round in GB but a site in Bristol was muted.

With all the fiasco of the **** tracks then maybe a rethink is in order
for the organisers?

They could try Knockhill?

I'm sure they can build that giant skate ramp on one of the unused back straights.

How about Lydden Hill? Could they hold it there? (Might be a silly question. )

ESPN funds X Games. They'd have to be held somewhere ESPN and the various sponsors (Rockstar, Monster, Red Bull, Etnies, whatever) would get their money's worth.

Please god No! Lydden not big enough and not presentable enough, there is more than enough rallycross at the Kent circuit, another more worthy circuit like brands would benefit rallycross far better in the long run.

I'd disagree there slightly, as rallycross was born at Lydden so it might give the GRC, a nice shot of rallycross history.

But if Lydden doesn't work, they could give Croft a shot. It's an ex-RAF station so I'm sure space wouldn't be an issue. (Maybe noise?)

Really! Yes as you say lydden has its heritage as you say but for XGames a high profile circuit such as Brands with its heritage also would be far beneficial to XGames and Rallycross both national and international. No place this side of the water for GRC.

I have always thought brands would be the place for x games ,it can handle spectators ,,car parks ,toilets, shops ,bars ,food etc ,all JP needs to do is open up the knife edge again redo paddock turn job done ,the viewing is great for the old track ,and I am sure these grc x games lot would love to drive there as I bet they have all watched the old days there .and as JP was well up for doing the rallies there again I am sure they would use the track as well ,then poss chance to see the Grandprix there at the end of the year .

But the x games has all the other crap that goes on as well as the rallycross (I'm not a fan ) where would you put that at Brands? In the outer paddock I guess?

Skate & BMX "street" on the flat of the infield
Skate & BMX Half Pipe on the flatish section after the chicane before it climbs into Clarks.
The the Big air from the Chalet above Leslie's down over the track into the Quarry... if thats not big enough, down from the infield over the rallyx track landing on the exit of Clarks/Hislops
Street Luge from the top of the Hill itself down...just avoid the sheep.

we can do this
