Might I make a suggestion - (I can't remember how many pairs of gloves are dished out per post) don't wear the gloves unless you intend to manhandle a car/driver.
Carry them on your person, put them on as you approach the car, checking for the green light or whatever this weeks signal is. |

I had the misfortune to have to wear these ghastly things a couple for the 2011 GP, when it rained heavily. I've since upgraded to flag so shouldn't need them again.
I think the advice to keep them off until you need them is sound as a combination of sweat inside and rain outside must surely result in a nice wet conduction path for the electricity they are meant to protect you against. I wonder what the team mechanics wear? |

A couple of years back, at Silverstone, I'm sure the ruling was that all incident marshals wear them at all time F1 cars were on track. |

There are never enough to go round so it's usually half the incident team get them. In the wet they are useless as offer no grip grip whatsoever on anything remotely 'shiny'. I tend to wear my gauntlets over the top, as I'm not convinced that the kers gloves will stand up to any heat, so really had to keep them on at all times while the cars were on track. We got issued the same gloves at the WEC meeting aswell this year.

The suggestion of put them on if something happens it takes about 5 mins for me to get the things on :P
One suggestion which I did this year was to wear thin set of wolly or cotton gloves worn under the KERS gloves made them much more comfortable/ easier to get on and off |

Only worn them once.......BGP 2012 when the meeting was held underwater....pain to get on!....even harder to get off!....sticky sweaty, smell of rubber and you cant feel anything through them!......and you feel like you'd rather not have bothered!........should be sponsored by Durex .

There's seven months to go until the British GP.....
Can't we at least get Christmas out of the way before any further mention of it ??? |

Some people are interested in very expensive motor "sport", some aren't.
I'm 100% confident that I will not be required to wear any KERS (or ERS as I believe it's now called) gloves in 2014 . Steve |
