F1 pole Trophy
It has been proposed by the FIA to introduce a Pole trophy for the driver who wins the most pole positions in a season. As there is no reward of points for pole this is being proposed as an alternative.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111652 It seams like a good idea as it gives drivers something else to chase especially if they loose out on reliability although it will probably end up with driver who wins most races anyway. |

Radio message: "sorry (insert leading drivers name), we know that you'd go faster and probably get that 8th Pole of the year what would give you the Pole winner's Cup, but we need these unused tyres for the race"
Hmmmm, can't see that going down very well in several crash helmets |

What a great idea. Another trophy for Red Bull to win.

May the best man/team win. Whether that is Vettel/RBR next year remains to be seen...

Seems like a silly waste of time.
The only thing I can see it doing, is encouraging drivers not to compromise Qually, for Race setup?? |

Pole Position Trophy
New trophy for most poles in a season has just been announced. Don't see how this exactly improves anything, wouldn't it be better to give a couple of points for pole like in the lower formula rather than just a trophy at the end?

It doesn't improve anything. It doesn't improve anything from even a gimmicky point of view. Woe betide to any dinosaur who discusses the sporting implications of any this from sporting pov mind you. It's just another title to give to Nettles basically.

Can't believe another silly gimmick has followed the "double points final round" crap. Only a matter of time before joker rounds, reverse grids and draws for grid positions.

Well at least it is only a trophy, which is pretty ineffectual.

Yet again the FIA have come up with an answer to a question nobody was asking.

As likely as not, it will go to the world champion anyway, so it won't mean much. But it does no harm, I suppose.
