Alan Crook should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
January Clubnight

Our first clubnight of 2015 will be held on 13th January, our guest for the evening will be Steve Nichols. Steve began his career in aerospace in the 70s, in 76 designed dampers for Indycar. During this time he met John Barnard when John started work for Ron Dennis at Project 4 he hired Steve. When Project 4 took over McLaren Steve found himself working for McLaren. When John Barnard left McLaren Steve became head car designer his first car being the MP4/3, his second car the MP4/4 in 1988 winning 15 of the 16 GP held that year being driven by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. At the end of 1989 Steve moved to Ferrari where he stayed until the end of 91. Steve joined up with Sauber where he helped Peter Sauber with the move into F1. In 1993 Steve moved to Jordan as Chief designer, in 95 Steve moved back to McLaren as Technical consultant helping McLaren back to the front of the grid winning World Titles in 98 & 99. In 2001 Steve moved to Jaguar Racing as Technical Director.

Steve has also raced himself in FF2000.

As usual our clubnight is in the White Horse in Silverstone village starting at 8pm all marshals are welcome.

The pub is now doing food and they also now take credit cards again.

A very good clubnight, good to see so many people. Thanks to Steve Nichols for coming along. Some interesting stories about the Senna / Prost era. Not bad for someone who said he did not do Public Speaking.

Good to see Iain and thanks to Iain for bringing Steve along.
