Bob Haines
I'm very sad to report the passing of Bob Haines on Monday 2nd February after a long battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
Bob was a week in/week out spectator at venues around the UK for many years. His enthusiasm for the sport he loved knew no bounds and it wasn't unknown for him to be at Lydden Hill on a Saturday then Cadwell Park on the Sunday, usually with video camera in hand! Bob's tall figure and enquiring nature meant he was focal point for people to talk to and was well known by both the spectating and marshalling community. In recent years, despite Bob's failing health, he still managed to attend meetings at Donington regularly and was a familiar sight in his wheelchair at the Old Hairpin, eagerly awaiting the next race. Alas the Chequered Flag has fallen for Bob and he will be sadly missed. |

R.I.P. Bob, never seemed to let his illness get him down.
He will be missed from the Old Hairpin. |
