ACO sanctioning fees for a WEC race?
Was just wondering what the ACO charges the various circuits that hold a WEC race, for the sanctioning fees?
Anybody out there have even the slightest idea? Or is it like F1 & Bernie......State secret! You would have to be shot if you found that out! |

No way that stuff is out there. I'm sure it caries wildly; Bahrain will pay much more than any of the others, who I suspect pay fairly little comparative to F1.

I doubt anyone except Borerain pay anything, and I also doubt ACO is making cash outside of Le Mans. They just go to places where you have F1 facilities and F1 standards and VIP lounges for the corporate guests.
Remember that FIA also demands fees for organizing these events, it was one of the (alleged) reasons Ratel got rid of the FIA moniker in his sprint series after 2013 Last edited by Deleted; 20 Jan 2016 at 17:19. |

I doubt that it is free, of charge, to host for any place.
I'm fairly sure Interlagos paid some millions and that's the reason it ain't coming back. Fittipaldi could not make much revenue with the small attendances the event got and, as a consequence, was reported to have losses in the millions..... Nurburgring, Spa and Fuji have quite big crowds, I can't see the organizers(ACO/FIA) leaving all the revenue for the hosters. IIRC, the cheapest ticket for Nurb was 35 euros. So, at least 1.5 M was collected with attendance there. |

That's what I read, though. And I don't believe the journo who claimed it didn't know what he was talking about.
But, mind you, the Brazilian currency does not compare favourably with the Euro, so an annual 1 million Euros hosting fee meant like 3.5 million Reals(Brazilian currency) Again going by Nurb weekend, I bet WEC gets something like ~1.5 M Euros from the organizers and the remaining is left with Nurburgring owners |

All I had heard was that Fittipaldi and the rest of the Interlagos organization had disputes and disagreements with the ACO-FIA.
