Great piccies drbob. Thanks for posting, and thanks for explaining the class structure thing. I was aware the rotaries had an equivalency factor built in, was just confused that the two rotaries appeared in results under different classes. As you said, a clerical error.

It was a shame the the Mazda misbehaved despite all the regulators and tricks tried. Even the coil! Sadly thats motor racing. C'est la vie and all that as GerryMo might say. It seemed to be running well in the final race so something worked.

I take it you are still going with the plan of getting the misfire sorted 100% and testing locally to you, and not coming down to Sandown for the Heritage races at Sandown, supporting the V8's.

I'll probably give it a miss as well..... no paddock or pit access from what I can make out for general admission, so even if you were coming down I would be unable to access and catch up. Next time you venture South.

I see in post #50 you have a pic of Mark Brewster's Torana..... great to see his Father Ted Brewster was also there in the Group N, punting his Cooper S round with aplomb.

Not a bad effort for an 86 year old who has been running the Cooper for decades and other stuff previously. He and his ever present wife Margaret turn up with the trailer, unload everything, run the car unaided then load the Mini up and pack the car up and drive home, always with a smile. And he can still show the young 'uns a thing or two.

As an aside, a few years ago British actor Martin Clunes was doing a series on Islands of Australia and visited PI.... on hand was the then 82 year old Ted to take him for a few laps of the circuit in the Cooper S.

E.B a correction to my comments re the class system for the RX7
The total homologated capacity for the 13B ( see the FIA homologated Madza Cosmo CD23C i.e. the RX-5) is 1308 c.c for the 2 rotors. The FIA mandated an equivalency total capacity of 2616 c.c. The FIA homologated the Group 1 and Group A Mazda RX-7 SA22C with only the 12A engine. The capacities being total capacity of 1146 c.c for the 2 rotors and an equivalent capacity of 2292 c.c.
CAMS in Australia homologated the 13B peripheral port engine for the SA22C RX-7 in 1981 and mandated an equivalent capacity of 4584 c.c.

Thanks for the links drbob..... I see the red (Joe Coleja) owned Corvette we both posted photos of from PI that I know you like was running at Sandown yesterday and did rather well in the Heritage race. Two races yesterday, 1x1st and 1x2nd overall.... the 2nd place only because of a late Safety car / local yellows precluded a pass. Mind you that was with John Bowe driving it. (Joe was driving his Mustang).
