Robin Miller
Just saw this from MP and learned of Robin's passing.
https://twitter.com/marshallpruett/s...40978490802177 Such an integral part of most folks American Open Wheel racing experience, a wealth of knowledge, a hard headed, but fair SOB and someone who I really think loved AOW racing more than anyone else. His voice, writings and influence are only temporarily silent as they'll live on forever. Glad he got that one last visit to THE Speedway. Farewell, Robin. He was 71 years young. |

Sad news. I haven’t read too much of his writing, but I can tell he was one of a kind, one who was never afraid to say what he thought, no matter how difficult the subject was.
The American racing scene is all the more poorer for his passing |

A man who had his opinions and not afraid to share them and judge you for being wrong. But appreciated your thoughts and teased in only the way someone who truly cares could. And answered almost all of his Mailbag emails, well except for when is Marco getting fired.
Something about him just screamed classic open wheel but understanding the good old days really were the bad old days for the drivers. He loved the old cars and drivers but loved the safety and care of the modern driver and voraciously attacked anyone who dared say danger was better and call them out as never have driven or lost a friend. Inducted in to the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America for 2021, far too late honestly, but couldn't make it to the hall. They brought everything to Indy and he got to have Indy and Nascar in attendance and probably as big an attraction as the racing itself. Can picture him there as the center of the event instead of the guy hanging back to listen and absorb, he claimed it was the best day of his life. |

Robin was the racing fan's journalist and asked the questions most are too scared to. His voice will be missed.

GREAT read and will bring a tear or two remembering articles read and imagining the stories told and knowing I'd be in as much awe as MP writes.

Even this year he responded to some email I sent him. I will miss him.

Thank You for posting this. He certainly left his mark in a very large way. I say thay as a fan, he was part of the racing hub that has the Indy 500 as the center.
Exceptional read from "The Athletic!" Thanks for that too, it made my day for at least the next week! |
