I assume they have to add the system? At the end Le Mans is a round of WEC.

The could leave it off that class, but my guess is that they will include it here too.

Then maybe in ELMS at some point. It’s a relatively easy thing to do.

Sounds like McLaren has finally decided to get off the fence and join the Hypercar fray. Hyundai, more than anything else, has convinced them that the time to get in is NOW.

And that "mystery manufacturer", lurking in the background, if it happens to be Mercedes-AMG, and they give the go-ahead to build one,...

It's game, set, match. Hypercar has taken over and stolen the crown from Formula one. 20 manufacturers vs 5... how's that for driving interest.

He loves keeping stuff up his sleeve to try and keep you clicking, drops out the odd nugget every race cast to be honest, OK initially but gets bit tiring after a while. But that is his job, I tend to go elsewhere for my news.

I'll believe it when I see it - this isn't the first time McLaren have "agreed" to a top-level prototype. The wording is suitably cautious.



Having said that, could you imagine the scenes if it comes to pass and United aren't the works team for this!

I think it'll be more likely if McLaren wins the F1 WCC. That might make their investors and partners want to expand into another form of top level motorsport. Just my guess

Well they might win this year, so that could coincide with this (heavily rumored) decision. But that might not make a difference either because McLaren's f1 team is not quite the same as it's car division. There's some complicated things within the company as a whole that I'm not very well-versed on.
