Driver's Names

here's my silly season contribution:

Jungian analysis of the F1 fraternity reveals underlying forces in the names of F1 drivers.

The first group, well represented in F1 are those drivers with a double l in their names: Villeneuve, Trulli, Barrichello, Hill, Mansell etc;

Then there are those drivers with another double letter, but not L;
Senna, Massa, Fittipaldi, Hakkinen, Raikkonen,Yoong, Webber etc;

There is the 'Z' group, who always seem to be well represented:
Pizzonia (a rare double, like Barbazza and Regazzoni before him), Frentzen, Zonta, Diniz etc;

Particularly succesful in recent times are the no-double-letters but do have 'r's group;
Schumacher, Prost etc;

And the final grouping is the no-double-letter-or-'r' group:

Panis, Sato, Lauda, McNish etc;

Yes, this is slightly daft (it all began with a friend accusing me of supporting drivers whose names ended with vowels, and since then I've been looking for an effective way of categorising them by name).

Which will be the most successful grouping next year??

Supporting people who's names end in vowels! I can think of worse ways.

Fittipaldi
Fangio
Senna
etc...

I've tended to support drivers wth names ending in vowels as well, right up to Montoya, Rossi and Da Matta as my current favoruites. Maybe its because they all have Latin flair and charisma rather than being dreary and predictably British like Mansell and Hill (you never get monosyllabic interviews from Tino Rossi, couldn't imagine Hill organising some of his post-race stunts either)

Never thought about this... and I don't see any relation between names, numbers, colours, birthdays or zodiacs stuff...

Otherwise I should be 2 times F1 world champion !

True, but another driver whose name ends with a vowel is Barrichello and I wouldn't say he's charismatic. Would you?

the presence or not of an r in a name is recessive to the presence of concatinated double letters...
this silly scheme was arrived at intuitively however so may benefit from a bit more work. Maybe the non-double letter group should be further split into a no-letter-repeated-at-all group or further still into vowels-appear-alphabetically group (Panis, Sal/to)....

Double "E", as in Cheever, Cheers and Eero...

Barrichello should be in a group of his own, since he has two double letters...

Alex Caffi?

Barrichello's certainly more charismatic and emotional than Mansell or Hill, though less so than Montoya.
