Christijan and his managment have denied everything, they did'nt sign a contract and have'nt got an agreement, it was on www.pitpass.com , but the site seems to be down now(to many dutch visitors??), the article also said Minardi will probably confirm Jos in a few days.

Bit of a come down for Jos, only a few months ago he was (alledegly) about to be confirmed as Toyota driver for next year, and now he might be driving around at the back of the grid in a Minardi.

Albers denies Minardi contract rumour
8-12-2002 Christijan Albers' manager Lodewijk Varossieau has denied reports that the young Dutch driver has signed a contract to drive for Minardi in F1™ next season. Furthermore he denies reports that the DTM star travelled to Stuttgart to advise Mercedes Motorsport boss Norbert Haug that he would not be available next season due to F1™ commitments. "We are at the moment in conversation with Minardi," says Varossieau. "And it is looking good. "We are close to a deal," he added. "But a contract has not been signed. We are hoping to unveil something on Monday or Tuesday. Although an other year in DTM is still possible." A pitpass source claims that the decision that should be announced in the next few days is that Albers' fellow Dutchman Jos Verstappen is joining Minardi. Furthermore, claims that Albers has a budget of $5m are being treated with increasing scepticism. (www.pitpass.com) |

I hope Minardi don't sign either of them. One is a hack, the other too slow. Wilson & Bernoldi would be a better combination of driver and cheque book. |

Apparently Jos was still quite fast even in the Arrows, remember last year at Malaysia? and to a lesser extent, Austria.
Apparently if they are to sign Jos (who has Wild Boys), Albers also being Dutch will make "their powers combine" and attract some large Dutch companies which will bring in money. Do you think Jos will give some of the TW/Arrows money to Paul? But then again, Bernoldi has vast support from Red Bull. Tom. |

I think Marcel and Christijan are unrelated, but don't quote me.
This doesn't appear to be a great sighning,I'm sure they can get $5m from someone else with more talent. And it wouldn't make sense to run 2 rookies, so Jos may be mroe likely than Justin. The main drivers in contention have been rookies (Wilson), Dutchmen (Verstappen), and paydrivers (Bernoldi). Now they have someone who is all three of these things. |

Double Dutch!
F1 live is speculating that Minardi is going to have both Dutchmen because they have a massive Dutch backer - HMG broadcasting & Lost Boys. http://f1.racing-live.com/en/headlin...09013217.shtml |

HMG has said they are in negotiations with Minardi, BUT only to sponsor Jos, Lost Boys have confirmed their involvement as well.

The latest on this is that some sponsors who first wanted to sponsor Christijan have decided to sponsor Jos.
They are anry with Christijan's managment who had told the sponsors the money was to sponsor both drivers, but Jos or his managment did'nt know anything about that. |
