When will Webber stop?
Just for fun.
A good lap by Webber in a Jaguar that seems to have a little pace (good job as it has to last two years ). But how much was it down to low fuel? Speculation about this is going on in another thread http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...8&pagenumber=1 , but here is the poll. On what lap will Webber stop? The race is 71 laps. Half distance is 35/36 (1 stopper) Third distance is 23/24 (2 stopper) Quarter diatance is 18 (3 stopper) OK when do you think he'll stop? A crash and pitting for repairs invalidates all entries and much speculation about when he would have stopped must ensue. |

I sure hope he meant to say that. |

I'm betting on a two lap stop between 21-27 and a top five finish.

I bet on an early 2 stopper. Same goes for Renault. My opinion... no need to shoot.

I'm putting money on 16 to 20 - but still a 2 stopper.

I go with that: an early two stopper.
Of course he could be lying... |

geeez! you're putting it down to low fuel - instead of the man and the car.
Barrichello will stop on lap 5 for fuel - he qualified on empty! |

Who went for the last option and said he had enough go-go juice to go the full race distance? Don't you know that the fuel tanks aren't big enough to hold 190miles worth of fuel? and have been that way since about 1982/3.

IIRC it was 1994 when fuel stops where re-introduced as we know them now, although it was the following year that the rules stipulated a maximum tank size that prevented refueling (this wasn't really needed as the teams all went this way anyway). Brabham re-introduced refueling into F1 during 1982/3 an it proved effective when the car got to the end of the race (indeed got to the pit stops). This time it was banned a couple of years later for safety reasons (some of the contraptions the teams used were a bit dodgy!). Overall refueling has been used since day 1 in F1. I haven't voted yet, but I bet a penny that Webber stops on the same lap as TGP.
Adam - maybe Webber will stall on the grid? or his kitty cat car won't even make it to the warm up lap? or aliens will abduct him on lap 43? or, or, or, or ..... |

I am not suggesting he is on really low fuel - hence the chance to vote 20+ laps. Last edited by Adam43; 6 Apr 2003 at 15:28. |

I'm happy to align with the majority but I'll be happier if Webber's good grid position carries through to a great finish.
