Arp F3
I was at Brands over the weekend and saw the ARP cars. Does anyone know why they are so slow compared to when current, just a couple of years ago?
I think they run smaller restrictors (?) than British F3, crossply tyres and wealthy amateur drivers but even so, they seem and look so slow... The Formula Hondas were almost as quick and, unlike most ARP races, were not as dull as ditchwater! |

saw the race from snett on sky last night and made up of dallara's from late 90's.
what were the lap times compared with current cars? anything up to 5sec is acceptable as there not works teams and need competant engineering. JR did you see the sports 2000 racing? |

I don't know about restrictors or the tyres they use, but I have always felt that they are just too complicated for the average weekend type guys to get the best out of them.

I was on the same untimed qualification run as the ArpF3's (I was in my Formula Honda Jedi) and I could keep up round the corners but they had some advantage on the straights. But then again I was 4 seconds off the leaders in F Honda anyway.
Great day, good racing, but forgot to take the awning...DOh!!! |

it looks like the CV. i have stripped most of it down but cant afford a gearbox rebuild at the moment. have replaced the cv but hard to see if its fixed until i test or race next. I have a friend who i race with whos clued up too on this and he is coming down to have a look soon so hopefully i can crack it. irratating problem wish (like most) to have enough money to replace all the bits and test. cheers for the advice tho.
