C22 - Ferrari engine?

The current C22 that is being tested right as we type, does it have the 2004 "Petronas" (Ferrari) engine inside it?

Redblurr should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sauber meanwhile tested their new engine to verify its reliability

As I understand it Ferrari and FOrd customers all have to have 2004 engines due to reliability rules - I'm sure there's a great long thread (or six) somewhere about this

Apparently the engines are the same spec branded "Petronas".

Why don't they just call them Ferrari units and increase the Petronas branding on the car?

I was only questioning if the current C23 (not C22 - my mistake) was running Ferrari's 2004 engine in the back, if so its an indication of what to expect from Maranello's finest...

Uhn, I'm not sure. It's unlikely that Ferrari would let Sauber run their 2004 engine before themselves !

Mark Webber has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I dont think Ferrai have a choice as last year unit wouldn't handle new regs .

Its the same as Jag and Jordan I think

Think Sauber and Jordan are ok as they have 2004 spec engine deals, but i heard Minardi have to use an older spec cosworth engine. Surely this means that they wont be able to operate to the new regs?

But in all honesty what have Minardi got to lose with running an older (maybe more powerful) unit? If anything Minardi have the MOST to gain from these new regs, as they can run an older engine and might be closer to the rest of the field, if they aren't then they are still 19th and 20th.

The older unit that Minardi gets is modified to suit the new regulations.
