This is a perfect example of why I dont really like homologation , but understand that it is nessessary .
Otherwise we might have seen Lister in the LMS or Fia GT ..... sad to see them go indeed !!! |

I dont recall a statement either , I just presumed that that was the reason why the Storm wasnt in the Fia Gt championship .
Out of interest ..... how many cars do you have to produce to satisfy homologation issues ? |

The Storm isnt in the FIA GT Championship anymore because it is no longer competitve. Not because it doesent meet the homlogation requirements. A long time ago the FIA and Ratel gave the Lister Storm a special dispensation to run in the FIA GT Championship, mainly because there wasnt much competition around for the Vipers other than a few GT2 porsches. The Lister raced right through that era and on into another against the 550's etc. Sadly though it is no longer competitve against the likes of the MC12 or DBR9 or C6R. It will be a sad day in motorsport history when Lister finally does close its doors offically.

It is 12 (road) cars for small manufacturers in GT1. Whomever the financier of this project, and Lister/Pearce themselves would have known about the homologation requirements, and must have accounted for them in their plans. My presumption is that the money tree dried up, as it has for other things Lister. |

Wasn't there a rumor at Le Mans in 2006 that they were moving to GT?

Hang on; did Lister run that Pescarolo this year? They didn't, did they. When did they buy it?

Sad affair, really. Always loved the Lister cars and always rooted for them. Sorry to see them leave that way.
Especially a new GT1 would have been fantastic. |

Crikey things must be really bad at Lister, they are flogging of bits of the cars on ebay! (I know Lister are not based in East Sussex and this is therefore not direct from the factory ) |
