Lister Storm

There's an article in this months "Classic Cars" magazine about the Lister Storm - A road version is sort of test driven. I didn't think much of the article as I just wanted more! Anyway, the race cars are mentioned very briefly and I wondered what happened to them and where are they now?

Very successful, if ugly, cars!

It would be good to see such cars out again, although I know that there's no market for them in the British GT championship etc. Perhaps the Group C GTP series could have an invitation class for GT1 class cars and the like. Cars such as the Storm, Jag XJ220, Jag XJR-15, Mclaren F1, Ferrari F40 etc should be out on track!

Bump. i'd have thought Lister Storms would be Ideal for the GT90 series (or Britcar!)and Oakfields have a couple or three of them for sale as rolling chassis. Oakfields must have all of the remaining cars available for some reason

Autosport 2008 one of them was on the Britcar stand and I understood they were acceptable in that series, but are there doubts that the series will continue? listercars.co,uk might help do not know if Laurence Pearce is still involved, couple of years since I last saw him, mind it was 30 odd before that.

They probably are - Bobby Verdon-Roe was looking at purchasing a Storm to run in the series. I don't know whether the deal was ever completed.

Yeah I saw that one, it was the GT1 version, available, ready to go for £199K!!! The other 2 GT2 versions that Oakfields have are rolling chassis at c£30K each.

Britcar is in VERY rude health. Britsports, on the other hand, has been canned.

Eligible for Revival 90 GT series, and Britcar, as Andy says. Also for the AMOC Super GT series organised by Stephen Archer, so a good reason to dust them off and get them out, I'd have thought.

CUT 7 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
i like the idea of having the GT 90's in the group c series.Though its good enough as it is.
A Storm went up the hill at the F O S.Owners were French.Great to see the car, I missed them in GT's, and at full chat. A very respecteble 55 sec run I think.
(and for those who missed Mr Law going up in 44 secs it was insane.Thats only 3 secs[!!] slower than Nick Hiedfild in a 8 year old F1 car)
cheers C 7
