I'd pick a National club race at Buttonwillow over visiting Vegas, but that's just me.

It doesn't have any hills but it does have a "yump" that causes some cars to catch air.

We like the sound of that....when we went to california a few years ago, we got lost as you do......on our way up to laguna and it was brilliant...in the back of beyond...off the beaten track....what tourist....

Flat, dry, sunny, and dusty.....that would make a nice change from flat, wet, miserable.....and a bit more wet

Buttonwillow (the town) has good accommodation. Also try Willow Ranch Restaurant south of the track, just off the main drag (Tracy St., I think the restaurant's on Lagoon). John and I went there for dinner on the way back from Laguna last October and it has the best soup ever -- those of you who know how sick I was at Laguna will appreciate the fact that I even noticed.

as its back 2 3 days, the welcome party starts at the yard house bar (250 beers on tap!) and the Rockbottom do is winding down by 20;00 (6:45am morning meeting).

Give yourself plenty of time for the drive down the coast. hope its warmer than it was for us!

Grab a doughnut (or two?) for me! I really miss the place and people when I'm not there....You can keep the racing. IRL= Dinky Toy racing. ALMS= over before it starts getting interesting! Be sure to pop in to the Yard House on Thursday lunchtime. Just follow the noise of Workers/Marshals reuniting and enjoying each other's company!

Sadly I won't be there either due to paying work. Waah.

Linda will have to keep Bob in line without my help. Since he's posted to Seaside, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Shame we wont meet you....coffee and doughnuts each morning for sign on....DOH....(i prefer the on track doughnuts done by race winner..)
Just downloading spotters guides ect....and have been trying to keep up with racing on the old satalite box, but with very limited coverage....is a pain in the ar--.
A shame a tv company like SPEED, or ESPN cant come and give us decent coverage over here in europe, i would certainly pay if it had live nascar, alms, indy, ect....
Will be nice to see the drivers from the rockingham good old days....& maybe one day will venture over to indianapolis for the BIG ONE....
See you all thursday....Tony & Wendy

Don't pay TOO much attention to the spotters guide - the cars seem to change livery every race! Certainly last year the guide was WORSE than useless. Plus the cars have terrible numbers AND all look the same colour from the front.

Enjoy it though - wish we were going!

A big thankyou to the CAL CLUB, the race gypsie (bob) & racerkeke (kedre) for a fantastic weekend of big grids at the toyota grand prix in longbeach, from tony wendy and lisa on turn 9 lead flags.....to be inches away from a full pack of indy cars at full speed was awesome, almost taking our flags a few times..
Great company, great weather, brill hotel room, well looked after, will i come back.....you bet just off to san francisco for a few days and vegas....luckily for us we dodged the heathrow dust cloud by hours.....are we bothered about returning.....no....once again a big thankyou

Glad you made it, I did think of you. Then again, you should have been here cheering on the Exiles. Seems they couldn't manage without you against Leeds.

You need to speak to Alan Steele or Lisa Simoni of SCCA San Francisco Region as they will know everything that's on for the weekend. Let me know if you want their contact details.
