Last time I saw David Butler was about two years ago and it was an MGB in the Owner's Club Championship. I believe he comes from Aldershot and raced with a sponsor associated with disabled drivers. Indeed I think he was responible for starting the Disabled Racing Driver's association or something of that ilk.

I hadn't noticed that the thread was bumped up from being started in 2003.

From formula drivers, the most recent was Jean De Pourtales, who raced during 1999-2006 with a prosthetic arm in the F3000 minor series (that was Italian F3000 - Euro 3000 Series). Even could manage to score points.

I may be wrong but I believe David Good 1961 hillclimb champion may have had something wrong with his arm? I think Peter Lawson told me, as Peter bought the BRM 4WD P67 off him Peter won the 1968 championship with the BRM. There are some pictures of David in the Mike Hayward collection and it certainly looks like he was driving one handed. Quite a feat

David Good had one normal arm and a stump . I pushed his F5000 hillclimb Mclaren M10B many times as a start line marshal. His disability did not hinder his driving .
A very nice man , and appreciative of our efforts , unlike one of his period colleagues who did his best to mow us proles down. David died earlier this year I think- or late last was it ? |

I did a hill climb meeting at Wyscombe Park earlier this year. There was a motor bike racer with only one arm competing.

Don't forget Neil Bray, who has successfully raced with the CTCRC for years, even winning the Group 1 Championship outright.
