The driver whom they clarify is Toshio Suzuki.
He was the chief test driver of Nissan-GTR. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=E_kswEJdHnI |

Meant to post this a couple of days ago..............
The car has been unveiled (in it's race livery) along with the driver line-up, Toshio Suzuki, Masami Kageyama and Hiroki Kurosawa. Shakedown will take place in the next few days before the team head for Le Mans and the Test Day. There is also the possibility of further testing on the Bugatti during the week following the Test Day. Article with pictures of the unveiling on Endurance-Info.com. |

Beautiful car, though. In their defence, white is the Japanese national racing colour, AFAIK. And it must be cheaper, only having to paint stuff white. And, whilst not exactly groundbreaking, 'white-with-stickers' is an 'acceptably traditional' sportscar look

well i was hoping for maybe big red circle, with red lines radiating from it.
big, thick red lines, kinda like an old japanese flag. i guess it might be a bit dated though. |

That flag reminds Japanese people about Japanese militarism.

No, Team Tokai University is a independent team by students.
Kondo Racing is racing in Super GT and Formula Nippon this year. |

I wonder if YGK will use the updates from Courage-Oreca for next year's Le Mans race if they are selected. IIRC, Courage-Oreca will build a new car for 2009. |

The shakedown test of Tokai had not gone well by the human error.
Therefore, they have decided to employ a professional mechanic for supporting students. |

This entry has to be considered a frontrunner for the first retirement sweepstakes. Too bad, but it's not up to the level required for international sportscar racing yet. They should have taken in the LMS this year, even the second half of it, if possible; then mounted an attack on LM next year. I realize the money is probably an issue, but right now it's just being p*ssed away anyhow.

Epsilon Euskadi was first on the list reserve list.
If any team should have pulled its entry first, the Saulnier Racing LMP1 Pescarolo Judd would be it with their non-pro drivers. Doesn't anyone realize the significance of getting young engineers/students involved in a proper racecar? (yes, they do need the support of professionals though) Perhaps they will race in the 2009 Asian Le Mans Series. http://www.crash.net/motorsport/le_m...hai_event.html Tokai University Le Mans Project now in english http://www.u-tokai.ac.jp/lemans/english/index.html |
