no surprise... for a manufacturer it basically doesn't make any sense to make a gt3 car if there isn't any intention to sell cars to customers.
As expected we will see a >1300kg C8R with spec gt3 michelin, maybe slightly modified diffuser/rear wing and different brakes.

Lost Alegra Mercedes for Lime Rock. Stinks but if a small team like that has any money hiccups then they will lose the ability to race right away. Feels wrong to have a GT3 race in IMSA without Ferrari and Mercedes in it.

Lime Rock GT now has a 16 car overall grid which is the bare minimum for a race at that track to be presentable enough.

So lets hope for a good yellow/safety car free race on Saturday. Corvette and Grasser leading opening pracitce.

Alright Lime Rock off to a nice clean start, no rain at beginning at least. GTD is 1. Aston 2. Lexus 3. Audi tight up front but running in formation. Corvettes off to the distance. WeatherTech Porsche in no-mans land.

Biggest thing I hope to see is a caution free and dry race.

His pace compared to the corvettes in clean air wasn’t that bad but it was in traffic he was losing out badly

Top 4 in GTD has been in a freight train since the start, #23, #14, #39, #9 in that order. After 45 minutes too. I guess the silver drivers have decided keeping it clean is most important. Good decision.

John Potter just got lapped by GTD leaders before the first stop. That must be frustrating. Magnus did so much better as their own operation running the Audi. These alignments with Archangle and Grasser (last year) have not gone so well.

I noticed that good point. Before traffic Cooper was 8 seconds back. A couple minutes later after he hit GTD cars it was 17 seconds.

Yeah so far 16 cars at Lime Rock is just fine. Granted in 2018 when it was 16 cars (due to a first lap crash that took out Turner BMW and somebody else), it was half GTLM and half GTD. Not this year. Point being, 16 is lower than we want but we can get away with it at Lime Rock.

VIR we need as many entries as we can get Need to get Alegra and SunEnergy Mercedes back for sure at the very least. But VIR can't be under 18. Just can't be.

I woudl not mind if LMP3 was in that race since GTLM would still win overall. But its too late to add them to the sked I think.

Tracking gaps here. Jaminet Porsche was 31 seconds down at one point to #3 Corvette. Now 25 seconds (1 hr 5 minute mark)

This slow burn of seeing the gaps while under green is more interesting than seeing it artificially close up due to a yellow.

it´s standart in the usa, after the dead fan at Pocono then a lightning hit the area.

And 11 dead this week from a lightning strike as well. It happens and tracks are often wide open areas with multiple towers, antennae and other attracting objects.

But yes, by all means let the couch riders decide what's safe for the volunteers and track workers. Yeah, that seems like a GREAT decision, morons

Are fans out there in open areas aware that lightning only strikes under green flag conditions so they're totally safe to stand around an extra hour in a "potentially dangerous" place? Or are they supposed to run towards a nearest forest?

I find this genuinely baffling. And again, it's from the same sanctioning body that promotes videos of their drivers deliberately running each other into a pit wall at full speed with wheels flying over marshals' heads (and getting away with it afterwards!). "Cause rubbin's racing". But if there's a thunderstorm within 500 miles, everyone hide for the next hour!
