The category engine doesn't need to have pistons, so...
4-ROTOR 26B NATURALLY ASPIRATED 650 HP 10,000 RPM Limit Late 13B side housings Full Peripheral Port Fully Dynamically Balanced Ceramic Apex Seals Race Bearings Blueprinted $39,525 USD https://www.definedautoworks.com/maz...s-4-rotor.html Seems reasonable. A welcome return to the glory days of the Australian Touring Car Championship, that were arguably unfairly cut short. |

A couple of laps on their own on the track would have been a dead giveway. |

Well the gamble didn't pay off then if they failed to qualify. They didn't really think it through, they should have done their homework beforehand

Makes sense, as you say the cheat would have been a dead giveaway on the hardies heroes lap. On a side note, why didn’t Moffat need a pit stop at Wanneroo in 1984? 13B helped pull him up the hill so he didn’t need to run a light tank? |

Clear as mud. So is Gen 3 going to require DOHC engines? The category engine will be a DOHC engine apparently... Perhaps a BMW engine, like this Judd HK which is based on the BMW S65? (Thankfully not using BMW OE road bearings, lol!) No murmurs of V10s or V12s which is a shame, given this would be the perfect opportunity to do that. Been a lot of talk about the Gen 3 Spec engine on here but what about the look of the cars. Pretty obvious we are going to have 2 door coupes but should they be like the current Mustang (but with lower roof!) or go a bit radical with a DTM style body kit (sort of). In the 1980s Aussie Touring cars had flared guards and they looked tougher than the current Supercars.

Looking "tough" is not important.
WRC "toughened" up the look of the cars, and it makes no difference at all. It's lame to focus on superficial aspects. |

The V8 engine is the DNA of supercars, its what the majority of fans want in Australia.
I think a V8 engine with KERS might be worthwhile or hell even a V8 engine with P2P electric battery. |

DNA is horse****. It's an attitude held onto with a vice like grip from a small, less knowledgeable motor racing community and fans.
It's keep as a notion to keep status quo, and doesn't change because CAMS/MA don't know any better. Australian fans like F1 more than supercars. It's the leftovers that get attached to supercars. You ask any supercars fan why 5lt V8s became the prominent engine in the atcc, they wouldn't have a clue. Not just that, probably even figures within the supercars industry wouldn't know. |

I get an infraction from Adam for my post above for trolling. There's nothing in my post above that is trolling or incorrect.

One post does not make a troll.
It’s true I did. If there is any doubt why check out the FAQ. https://tentenths.com/forum/faq.php?...ules_behaviour and now back to the topic... |

Pronouncements that mystify. You are so confident in your statements I feel like you should get your own forum and you can have an echo chamber with yourself to continue hearing the sound of your own voice. Cheers Adam. Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk |

Can you please point me in the direction of any research or studies that supports your statement?

It is a series of questions like, "Name the last car to start a ATCC race that had less than 8 cylinders?" or "Which brand of car won the most heat races in the 1992 ATCC?" |
